1. John¹ Mortimer was born in Bath, Somersetshire, England 1815.

He married Caroline Nicholls. Caroline was born in Suffolk, England 1822.

John Mortimer and Caroline Nicholls had the following child:

2 i. Maria Louisa² Mortimer was born in Nelson 19 May 1849. Maria died 30 Jul 1903 in Blenheim, NZ, at 54 years of age. She married Francis Bine (Frank) Rush in Grovetown (Big Bush), New Zealand, 12 Jul 1866. Francis was born in London, England 24 Jan 1841. Francis was the son of Francis Bine Rush and Ann Mary Robinson. Francis died 21 Apr 1932 in Grovetown, New Zealand, at 91 years of age. His body was interred in Havelock, New Zealand.
