5. John⁴ Collins (John³, William², John¹) was born in St Mawes, Cornwall 1767.

He married Catherine Musgrove in Bodmin, Cornwall, 19 May 1793, Catherine was born in Bodmin, Cornwall 1770, daughter of Patrick Musgrove and Elizabeth Hocken.

John Collins and Catherine Musgrove had the following children:

11 i. William⁵ Collins born in St Mawes, Cornwall 1793.

12 ii. John Collins born in St Mawes, Cornwall 1795.

13 iii. Mary Collins born in St Mawes, Cornwall 1797. Mary died 1801 in St Mawes, Cornwall.

14 iv. Richard Collins born in St Mawes, Cornwall 1800.

15 v. Mary Collins born in St Mawes, Cornwall 1802. Mary died 1803 in St Mawes, Cornwall, at 1 year of age.

16 vi. Catherine Collins born in St Mawes, Cornwall. 1805. Catherine died 7 Jul 1868 in New Plymouth, NZ. She married Philip Vercoe in St Just in Roselands, Cornwall, 21 Jun 1825. Philip was born in St Mawes, Cornwall 1803, the son of Phillip Vercoe and Jane Odgers. Philip died 21 Feb 1884 in Karioi, NZ. (See Philip Vercoe for the continuation of this line.)
