1. James Robert¹ Dry was born 1819.

He married Sarah Alice Hope. Sarah was born in Cheshunt, Herts. 5 Jan 1838. Sarah was the daughter of John Hope and Susanna Shepherd. Sarah died 30 Dec 1903 in Picton, at 65 years of age.

James Robert Dry and Sarah Alice Hope had the following children:

+ 2 i. John James² Dry was born 27 Dec 1861.

3 ii. Sarah Susan Dry was born in Picton, New Zealand 1865. Sarah died 19 Nov 1911 at 46 years of age. She married George Patchett in Picton, New Zealand, Abt 1885. George was born in Muston, Leicestershire, England 6 Jun 1863. George was the son of John Patchett and Elizabeth Dring. George died 24 Oct 1938 in Blenheim, New Zealand, at 75 years of age. + 4 iii. Richard Harold Dry was born 1866.

5 iv. Phoebe Helena Dry was born in Picton, New Zealand 12 Dec 1869. Phoebe died 1st Jun 1952 in Auckland, NZ, at 82 years of age.

6 v. Ellen Louisa Hope Dry was born in Picton, New Zealand 10 Dec 1874. Ellen died 18 Apr 1961 in Auckland, NZ, at 86 years of age.
