2. John James² Dry (James Robert¹) was born in Auckland, New Zealand 27 Dec 1861. John died 21 Apr 1942 in Wellington, New Zealand, at 80 years of age. His body was interred 22 Apr 1942 in Karori Cemetery, Wellington.

He married Martha Keenan 1 Aug 1903. Martha was born 26 Sep 1859. Martha was the daughter of William Henry II Keenan and Sarah Heberley. Martha died 19 Mar 1916 in Wairau Hospital, at 56 years of age.

John James Dry and Martha Keenan had the following children:

+ 7 i. Albert James³ Dry.

8 ii. George Henry Dry was born in Te Awaiti, New Zealand 1894. Died 22 Oct 1920 in Picton.

+ 9 iii. Richard Harold Dry was born 15 Sept 1897.

+ 10 iv. Andrew Siddons Dry was born 27 Feb 1899.
